
Karen Godley, Vice President, Broker Associate, GRI, CDPE
In 2004 Karen won the Rookie of the Year award due to her multi-million dollar sales. Since that time she has belonged to The President’s Club, which represents the top 10% of the company. Karen has also been awarded several Leadership awards for her volunteer work in the community. She is a Broker Associate, a Vice President for Bosshardt, has received a GRI (Graduate Real Estate Institute) designation and is a Certified Distress Property Expert. Her interest in real estate stems from her background in helping families and individuals improve their lifestyles.
Karen has 25 years experience in the housing industry. Early in her housing career she served as a community liaison between military personnel and housing professionals in Charleston, SC. She also managed officer housing in Charleston and enlisted housing in Beaufort, SC. Karen moved to Gainesville in 1986 and assumed a position at The Gainesville Housing Authority making her responsible for 1,200 units of assisted housing. At the Housing Authority Karen worked to develop leadership initiatives for public housing residents. Her efforts were acknowledged by The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Services. She led the Gainesville Housing Authority in creating worksites for developmentally challenged individuals, which earned her the recognition of Florida’s Governor, Lawton Chiles. During her tenure the agency was deemed a HUD High Performer. Her work won her a position on the HUD National Study Group to Reinvent HUD Financial Management.
